Tomás Martín Etcheverry
Tomás Martín Etcheverry is an Argentine right-hander, born on 18 July 1999. He stands 1.96m. His breakthrough came at Roland Garros in 2023, where he reached his first Grand Slam quarter-final. He won his first four matches there without dropping a set, beating seeds Alex de Minaur, Borna Ćorić and Yoshihito Nishioka.
2026 has been his best season. In February he won his first ATP title at the Rio Open, an ATP 500 event on clay, beating Alejandro Tabilo 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4 in the final. He then reached the last 16 at three Masters 1000 events: Miami, Monte-Carlo and Madrid. That took him to a career-high World No. 25 on 18 May 2026. At the US Open he reached the fourth round for the first time, beating Mariano Navone before losing to Alex Michelsen.
His autumn has been harder. He has lost five tour-level matches in a row since New York, including defeats by qualifier Dalibor Svrčina in Shanghai and Mattia Bellucci in Almaty in October. He is World No. 29 on 1,590 points in the ATP rankings of 19 October 2026.

Playing Style & Strengths
Etcheverry is a tall right-hander with a two-handed backhand, listed at 1.96m. Clay has given him his best results: his only ATP title came in Rio and his deepest Grand Slam run came at Roland Garros. He can last in long, tight matches. On the day of the Rio final he first had to finish a suspended semi-final against Vít Kopřiva, which he won in two tie-breaks, and then came from a set down to beat Tabilo. His hard-court level also rose in 2026, with the Miami last 16 and a first US Open fourth round.
Etcheverry Betting Tips & Predictions
Etcheverry’s strongest surface is clay, where he won Rio and reached the Roland Garros quarter-finals, so he deserves more respect there than on quicker courts. His current form is the main concern. He has lost his last five tour-level matches, including to a qualifier in Shanghai and to Mattia Bellucci in Almaty. A ranking just inside the top 30 can make him look safer than his recent results suggest, so wait for signs of a turnaround before backing him.
