WTA China Open

The China Open is a WTA 1000 event on outdoor hard courts at the China National Tennis Center in Beijing, the tournament’s home since 2009. Its Diamond Court holds 15,000 and is the largest show court on the Asian swing. Played over nearly two weeks from late September, Beijing opens the Asian hard-court run that continues at the Wuhan Open and finishes at the WTA Finals. It is one of the ten mandatory WTA 1000s, so its points weigh heavily in the closing weeks of the Race to the WTA Finals.

Zheng Qinwen, a wildcard ranked No. 54, is the 2026 champion. She beat Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4 in the final to become the first Chinese player to win the China Open since it began in 2004, and it was the first WTA 1000 title of her career. Amanda Anisimova, the 2025 champion, was not in the field. Elena Rybakina was the top seed, ahead of Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva, but both of the top two seeds lost before the round of 16: Rybakina to Alina Charaeva in the second round and Sabalenka to Nikola Bartůňková in the third.
