Novak Djokovic will hope he is over his flu-bug when he takes on former Wimbledon junior champion Andrey Kuznetsov in the second round of the Australian Open.

Djokovic has taken some time to shake off a bug that has dogged him since his time in the Middle East at the start of the year, and still looked to be feeling uncomfortable despite a straight sets win over Aljaz Bedene.

Andrey Kuznetsov will be meeting the World No. 1 for the first time in his career and the Russian World No. 88 is not without some talent, lifting the Wimbledon Junior title in 2009, and returning to the site of his former glory, dumping his first Top 10 player out of The Championships last year when he beat David Ferrer in five sets, so he may well fancy his chances if Djokovic is still feeling below par.

The Russian plays an aggressive baseline game with a hefty double-handed back-hand that he likes to thump very hard and cross court, so we can expect to see some rallies, unless Djokovic starts to move forward a little more to move the Russian around a little.

Djokovic on par would be expected to be more than a match for Kuznetsov, but he admitted he was still getting over it, and accepting it was affecting him still.

He said: "They're fading away. It hasn't been an ideal couple of weeks in terms of health and preparation. But, you know, I [fought] my way through. Now it's behind me. I'm only looking forward. I think I did well in terms of responding to the slow start today, feeling a little bit rusty on the court. So hopefully the next one will be even better.”

Djokovic and Kuznetsov are scheduled on Rod Laver Arena, not before 2pm (3am GMT).
