WTA Finals 2026 Prize Money: What the Champion Earns

The WTA Finals pays the largest single cheque in women’s tennis. Like the men’s year-end event it uses an accumulating structure rather than a knockout ladder, so a player who wins every match collects far more than one who stumbles in the groups.

WTA Finals Prize Money

Item 2025
Total pool $15,500,000
Undefeated singles champion $5,235,000
2026 figures To be announced

That champion’s figure is more than the winner of any Grand Slam earned that season, which is why the closing week carries the weight it does.

How the Payout Works

All eight qualifiers receive a participation fee. Each round-robin win pays separately, then the semi-final and the final add further amounts on top. Because the components stack, the difference between winning the title unbeaten and winning it having dropped a group match is substantial.

Ranking Points Work the Same Way

Points accumulate rather than being awarded for a finishing position. An undefeated champion takes 1,500 ranking points, more than a WTA 1000 title, and in a close season that can settle the year-end No. 1 ranking.

How It Compares

Only the four majors carry larger total pools, and none of them pays a single player more. The Wuhan Open, one of the bigger WTA 1000 events, has a total pool smaller than what one player can earn in a week here.
