Carlos Alcaraz’s shock third-round exit has blown the 2026 Miami Open wide open, and the betting markets have shifted dramatically. With the world No 1 gone, Jannik Sinner is now the overwhelming favourite, but there is value to be found elsewhere in a draw decimated by upsets.

Just five top-20 seeds remain in the last 16, and the top half of the draw is particularly exposed. Here we break down the outright market, analyse the draw quarter by quarter, and pick out our best bets for Tuesday’s R16 matches.

Miami Open 2026 Outright Winner Analysis

The market has collapsed around Sinner since Alcaraz’s departure. The Italian is now priced at 4/6 with Bet365, implying roughly a 60% chance of lifting the trophy. That feels about right, maybe even slightly generous given his Indian Wells title run and the weakness of the remaining field.

Player Seed Outright Odds Implied Probability
Jannik Sinner 2 4/6 60%
Alexander Zverev 3 7/1 13%
Taylor Fritz 6 10/1 9%
Sebastian Korda 32 12/1 8%
Tommy Paul 22 14/1 7%
Arthur Fils 28 20/1 5%

The key question is whether Sinner at 4/6 represents genuine value or whether the market has overreacted to Alcaraz’s exit. He still has to navigate Michelsen, then likely Tiafoe or Zverev, and a potential final against whoever survives the top half. At Indian Wells he was untouchable, but Miami’s slightly slower hard courts and fluffy balls have historically been less kind to aggressive baseliners.

What Are the Prediction Markets Saying?

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi offer a different lens on the tournament, reflecting real-money sentiment from thousands of bettors rather than bookmaker margins. The numbers tell a clear story.

Player Polymarket Win % Bookmaker Odds Bookmaker Implied %
Jannik Sinner 74% 4/6 60%
Alexander Zverev 8.2% 7/1 13%
Sebastian Korda 7.3% 12/1 8%
Tommy Paul 5.7% 14/1 7%
Taylor Fritz 5.3% 10/1 9%

The standout discrepancy is Sinner: Polymarket has him at 74%, but the bookmakers imply just 60%. That 14-point gap suggests the prediction market crowd believes Sinner is even more dominant than the bookies are pricing in, potentially making the 4/6 look like value after all.

At the other end, Zverev looks overpriced by the bookmakers at 13% compared to Polymarket’s 8.2%. His six-match losing streak against Sinner makes a title win unlikely unless Sinner falls, and the prediction market reflects that more accurately. Fritz is another where the markets diverge: bookmakers have him at 9% implied but Polymarket only gives him 5.3%, likely factoring in the knee injury that the odds have been slow to adjust for.

The takeaway: if you trust the prediction market wisdom, Sinner at 4/6 is arguably the best outright value, while Zverev and Fritz look like traps at their current bookmaker prices.

Quarter-by-Quarter Draw Breakdown

Quarter 1 (Top Left): Wide open

This is the Alcaraz quarter, now without its headliner. The remaining players are Korda (32), qualifier Landaluce, Fritz (6), and Lehecka (21). Fritz is the highest seed but is nursing a right knee injury that hampered him at Indian Wells, where he lost his last three tiebreaks. Korda, riding the high of beating the world No 1, faces a qualifier in the R16 and could meet Fritz or Lehecka in the quarters.

Quarter pick: This is where the value lies. Korda at 12/1 for the outright title is interesting, but the smarter bet may be backing him to reach the semi-finals, which shortens the odds significantly while still offering value.

Quarter 2 (Top Right): Fils’ opportunity

Paul (22) faces Etcheverry (29), while Vacherot (24) meets Fils (28). Neither match features a top-10 seed, making this the weakest quarter on paper. Fils has been in excellent form in 2026 and is tipped by several analysts as a dark horse. The 20-year-old Frenchman’s powerful game is well suited to the Miami hard courts.

Quarter pick: Arthur Fils to win Quarter 2 @ 11/4. This is arguably the best value bet on the board. No top-20 seed in the quarter, and Fils’ form suggests he can handle both Vacherot and whoever comes through the Paul/Etcheverry match.

Quarter 3 (Bottom Left): Zverev’s to lose

Zverev (3) faces unseeded Quentin Halys, while Cerundolo (18) meets Humbert (31). Zverev should be a comfortable favourite here and his path to the semi-finals looks manageable. The concern is what happens if he meets Sinner in the semis, given his six-match losing streak against the Italian.

Quarter pick: Zverev progresses, but the outright at 7/1 is poor value if he cannot beat Sinner. More interesting is a Zverev to reach the final market if available.

Quarter 4 (Bottom Right): Sinner’s stroll?

Sinner (2) faces Michelsen, while Tiafoe (20) meets Atmane. Sinner should be heavily favoured through to the semi-finals. Tiafoe showed incredible resilience saving two match points against defending champion Mensik in the third round, but even a pumped-up Tiafoe would be a significant underdog against Sinner in a quarter-final.

Quarter pick: Sinner progresses without drama. The value here is slim.

R16 Match Betting Tips

Tip 1: Jiri Lehecka to beat Taylor Fritz @ 6/5

Fritz’s knee injury is the key factor here. He struggled at Indian Wells and while he has navigated his Miami draw so far, the quality step up from Lehecka could expose his movement. The Czech has been in impressive hard-court form this season, and his powerful groundstrokes should test Fritz’s ability to move laterally. At 6/5, Lehecka represents our best individual match bet of the round.

Back Lehecka to beat Fritz @ 6/5 with Bet365

Tip 2: Arthur Fils to beat Valentin Vacherot @ 4/7

Fils is the more talented player and has the higher ceiling. The 28th seed has shown throughout 2026 that he belongs in the conversation among the next generation of stars. Vacherot has had a solid run as the 24th seed but has not beaten a player of Fils’ calibre in this tournament. This is the safest of our R16 picks, and we would be comfortable including Fils in an accumulator.

Back Fils to beat Vacherot @ 4/7 with Bet365

Tip 3: Sinner vs Michelsen – Over 20.5 total games @ 5/6

Sinner should win this comfortably, but Michelsen is a capable server who can hold serve under pressure. The American has enough quality to avoid a complete blowout, and a 6-4, 6-4 scoreline (20 games exactly) feels like the floor. We fancy this going to at least 21 games, and if Michelsen can push a set to a tiebreak, the over lands easily.

Best Value Outright Bet

If we are picking one outright bet for the tournament, it is Sebastian Korda at 12/1.

Here is the case: Korda has just beaten the world No 1 and is riding a wave of confidence. He faces qualifier Landaluce in the R16 (winnable), then likely Fritz or Lehecka in the QF (both beatable given Fritz’s injury and Lehecka’s inconsistency). A semi-final against Fils or Paul is entirely manageable. The only roadblock is a potential final against Sinner or Zverev, but at 12/1, we are being paid handsomely for that risk.

The American thrives on home soil, his serve is among the best in the draw, and the momentum from beating Alcaraz cannot be underestimated. Five home players in the last 16 is the most since 1996, and the Miami crowd will be firmly behind Korda.

FAQs

What is the best bet for the 2026 Miami Open?

Sebastian Korda at 12/1 for the outright title represents the best value in the market. After beating Alcaraz and with a favourable draw, Korda has a realistic path to the final.

Is Jannik Sinner worth backing at 4/6?

Sinner is deservedly the favourite after his Indian Wells title run and Alcaraz’s exit. At 4/6 the price is tight, but his hard-court record and the weakness of the remaining field make it a justifiable bet for those who want the most likely winner.

Who is the best value longshot at the Miami Open?

Arthur Fils at 20/1 is worth consideration. The Frenchman sits in the weakest quarter of the draw and has shown excellent form in 2026. His path to the semi-finals avoids both Sinner and Zverev.

How can I watch the Miami Open in the UK?
