Iva Jovic
Iva Jovic is 18 and already inside the WTA top 20, the most advanced of the American teenagers who have followed Coco Gauff onto the tour. Born in Torrance, California in December 2007, she is ranked World No. 16 with 2,636 points, which matches her career high.
Her breakthrough season was 2026. She reached the Hobart final in January, then the Australian Open quarter-finals, beating seventh seed Jasmine Paolini on the way to become the youngest American in an Australian Open quarter-final since Venus Williams in 1998. She followed it with semi-finals at Charleston and Queen’s, where she beat second seed Amanda Anisimova, and a fourth round at Wimbledon.

Playing Style & Strengths
Jovic plays a low-error baseline game that does not look like a teenager's. She takes the ball early off both wings and hits through the court rather than over it, and Jessica Pegula, who has beaten her three times, singled out how well she changes direction with the backhand. That combination of clean striking and mature point construction is what turned a junior record into top-20 results inside eighteen months.
Faster surfaces bring out the best of it. The Australian Open quarter-final, the Wimbledon fourth round and the Guadalajara title all came on hard courts or grass, and beating Paolini in Melbourne meant absorbing pace from one of the quickest movers on tour and still dictating. On clay the same game has been more containable, and she has said herself that she wants to add slice, angles and changes of pace to move opponents around rather than relying on depth.
The measurable gap is against the very top. Her record against top-10 opponents stands at 1-7, and she has lost three straight to Pegula without taking a set, so converting the level that beats seeds into wins over the top five is the next step rather than a settled skill.

Jovic Betting Tips & Predictions
Jovic is at the stage where the market has priced her ranking but not always her surface split. She has been reliable as a favourite against players outside the top 40 on hard courts, where the low error count does the work, and her matches against seeded opponents at majors have twice produced better outcomes than the price implied.
Two cautions. Clay has produced markedly more variance than hard courts, and specific matchups matter more than her ranking: she is 1-7 against top-10 opposition and 0-3 against Jessica Pegula.
