Analysis

Playing Style & Strengths

Stearns is a 1.73m right-hander. Her WTA biography lists hard courts as her favourite surface, but she has won titles on both clay and hard: Rabat on clay in 2024 and Austin on hard in 2026. At the 2025 Italian Open she became the first player in the Open Era to win three main-draw matches in a row in third-set tie-breaks. Grass has been her weakest surface. She lost in the first round of Wimbledon in each year from 2023 to 2026.

Betting

Stearns Betting Tips & Predictions

Stearns has a good record in close matches, and her run in Rome in 2025 showed she can hold her nerve in deciding-set tie-breaks. Her two titles and two other finals came on clay and hard courts, so those are the surfaces to back her on. She lost in the first round at Wimbledon in each year from 2023 to 2026, so grass is a reason for caution. Her record against top-10 players is weak. Both of her top-10 wins came in 2025, and in 2026 she lost to Amanda Anisimova and Aryna Sabalenka.
