Analysis

Playing Style & Strengths

Báez is 1.70m tall and right-handed with a two-handed backhand. Clay is his best surface: six of his seven ATP titles came on it, along with back-to-back Rio Open titles at ATP 500 level in 2024 and 2025. He can also win on hard courts. He won the Winston-Salem title in 2023 and reached the 2026 Auckland final, beating Ben Shelton on the way. At Grand Slam level his best results are third-round runs at the 2023 US Open and the 2024 Australian Open.

Betting

Báez Betting Tips & Predictions

Báez is at his most reliable on outdoor clay, where he has won six titles and two ATP 500 events. His hard-court results in the second half of 2026 were thin, with early exits in Chengdu, Beijing and at the US Open. Matches against Luciano Darderi deserve caution: Darderi beat him three times in 2026, at the Australian Open, in Buenos Aires and in Santiago. On clay he is a stronger proposition than on hard courts.
