2026 was his breakthrough season. He reached the Rio Open semi-finals in February. That made him the first Peruvian ATP Tour champion since Luis Horna in 2007. He added a second title on hard courts at Winston-Salem in August, beating Arthur Fery 6-3, 6-2.

He also won his first main-draw matches at Wimbledon and the US Open this year. In the ATP rankings of 19 October 2026 he is World No. 33 on 1,445 points.

Analysis

Playing Style & Strengths

Buse is a right-hander with a two-handed backhand, listed at 1.83m. He grew up in Peru and moved to Barcelona to train, and his game is not limited to clay. His first ATP title came on the Hamburg clay, while Winston-Salem was his first hard-court title at ATP Tour or Challenger level. He has shown he can last in long matches. In Hamburg he won seven matches in a row from qualifying, and the final went to a deciding set. At the 2026 US Open he beat Marcos Giron in five sets, winning the fifth 6-1.

Buse Betting Tips & Predictions

Buse’s two titles came on outdoor clay and outdoor hard courts, so surface alone should not put you off him. Form is the bigger question. Since winning Winston-Salem he has won one of four tour-level matches, losing to Benjamin Bonzi at the US Open, Quentin Halys in Beijing and Zizou Bergs in Shanghai. Prices on a top-35 player tend to lean on ranking. His results since late August suggest caution until his level returns.
