By adding the Miami title to his Indian Wells triumph two weeks earlier, Sinner became the eighth man to complete the Sunshine Double. He joins an exclusive list that includes Roger Federer (2005, 2006, 2017), Novak Djokovic (2011, 2015), Andy Roddick (2004), Pete Sampras (2000), Michael Chang (1990) and Jim Courier (1991).

What sets Sinner’s achievement apart is the manner of it. He did not drop a single set across both tournaments, winning 12 consecutive matches in straight sets. No man had previously completed the Sunshine Double without losing a set, placing this among the most dominant hard court stretches in ATP history.

The title is Sinner’s seventh Masters 1000 crown and his second consecutive Miami title. Combined with his Indian Wells-Miami sweep, it represents the strongest spring hard court campaign by any player since Djokovic’s peak years.

Lehečka’s breakthrough run

Despite the final result, Lehečka’s tournament was a significant breakthrough. The 22-year-old Czech reached his first Masters 1000 final and achieved a remarkable statistical feat: he was not broken once across his first five matches, holding serve 56 consecutive times. He was the first player to reach an ATP 1000 final without being broken since Djokovic at the 2018 Shanghai Masters.

Lehečka will rise inside the top 15 in the ATP rankings following his Miami run, confirming his status as one of the most dangerous young players on the tour. His results in Miami mark him as a player capable of competing at the highest level of the game.
