Laver Cup
The Laver Cup 2026 is at The O2 in London from 25 to 27 September, with Team Europe and Team World both naming their six players. Team World arrive as holders after winning in San Francisco last year, and Team Europe still lead the overall series 5-3.

The teams
Both line-ups were confirmed over the summer. Yannick Noah captains Team Europe with Tim Henman as vice-captain; Andre Agassi captains Team World with Pat Rafter alongside him.

Cerúndolo was called up on 12 September after Tommy Paul withdrew with an elbow injury sustained at the US Open. It is Cerúndolo’s fourth Laver Cup in a row.
Europe field the higher-ranked side on paper. Zverev arrives as the reigning US Open champion after beating Shelton in the final at Flushing Meadows (their head-to-head record), and Alcaraz is a seven-time Grand Slam champion. Team World counter with depth: Shelton, de Minaur, Fritz and Tien have all been inside the world’s top 20 this season, and current standings are on our tennis rankings page. Schedule and format
The Laver Cup runs across three days, with four matches each day: three singles and one doubles. That makes twelve matches in total, nine singles and three doubles. Every player must play at least one singles match across the first two days, and no player can play singles more than twice. At least four of the six must play doubles, and no doubles pairing is used more than once unless the tie goes to a decider.

How the scoring works
This is the part that makes the Laver Cup different. There are 24 points available across the twelve matches and the first team to 13 wins the trophy. Because Sunday’s matches are worth three points each, a team can trail by a distance overnight and still win, which is why the event rarely dies early.
If the sides finish level at 12-12 after the twelve matches, a deciding doubles rubber is played to settle it.
No ATP ranking points are awarded, so the week has no bearing on the Race to Turin.

The 2026 Laver Cup is shown in the UK on Sky Sports, with coverage of all twelve matches across the day and night sessions, and it is also carried by TNT Sports. Sky subscribers can stream it through the Sky Sports app, and it is available on NOW without a full contract.

Every Laver Cup winner
Eight editions have been played since the event launched in 2017. The 2020 edition was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Team Europe won the first four editions before Team World broke through in London in 2022. The series now stands at 5-3 to Europe, and World have won three of the last four.
What to look for
The obvious storyline is Zverev, who arrives in London off the biggest win of his career. He has now won two majors in a season that also brought him Roland-Garros, and he does it on an indoor hard court, a surface that suits his serve as well as any.
For the home crowd, the draw is the quality rather than a British player: there is no Briton in either squad, so Henman’s vice-captaincy is the local interest. The Laver Cup’s return to The O2 is its first London staging since 2022, when Team World won their first title.
Ruud is the one selection to watch on fitness. He withdrew from the US Open with a back injury, so his fitness is worth watching.
