Tallon Griekspoor Wins the European Open in Brussels From a Set Down Again

Tallon Griekspoor won the European Open in Brussels on Sunday, beating Jan-Lennard Struff 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. It was the third match in a row in which he came from a set down, after wins over the No. 2 seed Jiri Lehecka and the No. 3 seed Francisco Cerundolo. The title is the fourth of his career and his first since Mallorca in June 2025.

Nineteen Aces and One Break

Griekspoor won 84 per cent of his first-serve points in the final and hit 19 aces. The decisive moment came at 4-4 in the third set, when he broke Struff and then served out the match after two hours and two minutes. He now leads Struff 4-0 in their meetings. He is the first Dutchman to win a tour-level title indoors since Martin Verkerk in 2003. He started the week ranked No. 60.
