Wimbledon 2026 Day 7 Predictions, Order of Play & Best Bets

Saturday served up the fortnight’s biggest shock. Defending women’s champion Iga Świątek was dumped out by Filipino trailblazer Alexandra Eala, 7-6(9), 6-2 on Centre Court — the first Grand Slam fourth round of Eala’s career and a first for the Philippines. She wasn’t the only seed to fall: 2023 champion Elena Rybakina lost to Elise Mertens, and last year’s finalist Amanda Anisimova was beaten 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 by Australian Open champion Madison Keys. The men’s third round ran closer to script — Taylor Fritz outlasted Lorenzo Sonego in four, Alexander Zverev saw off Marcos Giron, and Grigor Dimitrov edged Matteo Berrettini in five.

Day 7 launches the fourth round with a Centre Court card for the ages: Novak Djokovic chases a record 106th Wimbledon match win against Roman Safiullin, world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka meets 14th seed Naomi Osaka, and defending champion Jannik Sinner closes proceedings against qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki. Coco Gauff, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Jessica Pegula all feature on No.1 Court. Full previews and order of play below — and if you’re building a slip, see our Wimbledon Day 7 acca tips.

Day 7 Predictions & Best Bets

Aryna Sabalenka v Naomi Osaka

The tie of the day on paper. Sabalenka is the world No.1 and the woman to beat on this half, still hunting a maiden grass major after semi-final near-misses, and her serve-plus-first-strike game translates well to a quick surface. Osaka has quietly rebuilt to her best, a four-time major champion whose flat ball-striking is tailor-made for grass — but Wimbledon has always been her weakest slam and this is uncharted territory for her deep in the second week. Expect a heavyweight ball-striking shootout; Sabalenka’s marginally steadier return and greater match-sharpness at the business end should carry her through, though not without a wobble.

Best bet: Sabalenka to win — approx 1/3 with Betfred.

Novak Djokovic v Roman Safiullin

Djokovic drew level with Roger Federer on 105 match wins at the All England Club in the third round and now goes for the outright record — a milestone that tends to sharpen his focus rather than distract it. Safiullin has the game to make him work, a clean, flat hitter who dismantled João Fonseca and can catch fire from the baseline. But he lost their only previous meeting here without threatening, and Djokovic’s return and ability to neutralise pace should blunt the Russian’s best weapon. The record edges closer.

Best bet: Djokovic to win in straight sets — approx 4/6 with William Hill.

Belinda Bencic v Coco Gauff

The pick of the No.1 Court card and the hardest to separate. Bencic, the Olympic champion, has rediscovered her best since returning from maternity and her clean, early ball-striking is a natural fit for grass. Gauff’s athleticism and elite return give her the edge in the longer exchanges, but her forehand and serve can misfire under pressure and Bencic is exactly the kind of flat, redirecting opponent who exposes that. Two contrasting styles that have split their previous meetings points to a tight, momentum-swinging match that goes the distance.

Best bet: Over 20.5 total games — approx 5/6 with Sky Bet.
