ATP China Open
The ATP China Open 2026 runs from 30 September to 6 October at the China National Tennis Center in Beijing, and the draw is out. Alexander Zverev is the top seed after winning Roland-Garros and the US Open, and Novak Djokovic, who holds the record with six Beijing titles, is seeded to meet him in the quarter-finals.
There will be a new champion. Jannik Sinner, who beat Learner Tien 6-2, 6-2 in the 2025 final for his second title here, is not in the draw. Tien is back as the No. 7 seed on a wildcard.

The men’s event is a one-week ATP 500 played alongside the first week of the WTA China Open at the same venue. The Japan Open in Tokyo runs in the same week, which is why the two draws split the field.

The Draw, Quarter by Quarter
Zverev and Djokovic share the top quarter
Zverev opens against Cameron Norrie. Djokovic starts against Nuno Borges, and the rest of the section is Sebastián Báez, Juan Manuel Cerúndolo and the Chinese wildcards Juncheng Shang and Yunchaokete Bu. Djokovic lost in the first round of the US Open to Mariano Navone, but Beijing has been his most productive event: the ATP credits him with 29 match wins here, a tournament record.
Medvedev leads the second quarter
Daniil Medvedev, the No. 3 seed, opens against a qualifier. He is also in the semi-finals of the Hangzhou Open, whose final is on Tuesday 29 September, so a run to that final leaves him very little time before Beijing. The standout first-round match in this section is Alexander Bublik against the No. 8 seed Jakub Menšík, with Francisco Cerúndolo, Jan-Lennard Struff and Thiago Agustín Tirante also here.
Cobolli and de Minaur in the third quarter
Alex de Minaur, seeded fifth, starts against Mariano Navone, the man who beat Djokovic in New York. Flavio Cobolli, the No. 4 seed and the Roland-Garros runner-up, faces Roman Safiullin, who is in the draw as a special exempt after reaching the Hangzhou semi-finals. Andrey Rublev, another Hangzhou semi-finalist, plays Tallon Griekspoor, and Ignacio Buse meets Quentin Halys.
Auger-Aliassime and Tien in the bottom quarter
Félix Auger-Aliassime, the No. 2 seed, has the hardest opener of the top four against Karen Khachanov, a US Open semi-finalist this year. Tien meets Hubert Hurkacz, and Arthur Rinderknech, whom Auger-Aliassime beat in Canada’s Davis Cup qualifier against France, faces a qualifier. The wildcard Zhizhen Zhang also meets a qualifier.
What Is at Stake
The champion earns 500 ranking points, and with the Shanghai Masters following from 5 October, the Asian swing is where the last places at the ATP Finals start to settle. On the ATP’s live Race to Turin on 28 September, Zverev led on 8,650 points, Cobolli was fifth on 3,530, Medvedev eighth on 2,870 with his Hangzhou run counted, and Auger-Aliassime twelfth on 2,365. Menšík and de Minaur sat just behind him on 2,355 and 2,360. The top eight qualify for Turin.
