Day 3 closes the first round, and it brings out the names that have been waiting: top seed Alexander Zverev, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Taylor Fritz and Madison Keys all start today. Acca 1 — The Seeds Slip (4-fold)
The same shape that came in on Day 2. Alexander Zverev is the top seed and a former US Open finalist, and while Lorenzo Sonego is awkward on a quick court the gap over five sets is clear. Coco Gauff opens against Zeynep Sönmez with the Ashe crowd behind her, Elena Rybakina faces a wild card in Thea Frodin, and Alex de Minaur plays a qualifier. Four heavy favourites, four opponents with no realistic route.

Acca 2 — Straight Sets Sweep (3-fold)
This slip returned around 7/2 on Day 2 and the logic has not changed. Elena Rybakina against a wild card and Coco Gauff against an opponent she outranks comfortably are the two cleanest straight-sets propositions on the card, and Alex de Minaur’s movement rarely lets a qualifier find rhythm. The risk is the same as ever: one dropped tie-break anywhere and the slip is gone. Zverev is deliberately left out of this one: Sonego will take a set if the serve fires.

Acca 3 — The Long-Shot (3-fold)
The one with a price. Daria Kasatkina against Paula Badosa is the genuine toss-up of the round and the longer it lasts the more it suits Kasatkina. Madison Keys opening on Ashe should be straightforward once she finds her range. And Britain’s Jan Choinski against Botic van de Zandschulp is the most winnable of the three British ties today: the Dutchman has beaten far better players than this on his day, but he has been inconsistent. Three defensible calls that pay properly together.
