The second round finishes on Day 5 with 32 matches, and the shape of the day is straightforward: a long list of heavy favourites in the afternoon, then two genuinely open ties under the lights on Arthur Ashe. Three slips below, running from the safest four-fold to a British pair that needs almost nothing to go right to return something.
Day 4 was a write-off for all three of our slips, so these are built with that in mind: the anchor acca sticks to short prices with sound head-to-head backing rather than reaching for a return. Odds are approximate at the time of writing and we quote a number only where we can stand behind it. Today’s full card, results and best bets are in our US Open 2026 Day 5 predictions and order of play.
Acca 1 — The Seeds Slip (4-fold)
Four favourites with the head-to-head or the ranking gap behind them. Alexander Zverev has beaten Quentin Halys in both their previous meetings. Alex de Minaur is 4-0 against Botic van de Zandschulp, most recently in Rotterdam this year. Iga Świątek and Elena Rybakina are both prohibitive prices against opponents ranked well outside the top 50, and Rybakina has the world No. 1 ranking in view behind a third major.
| Leg | Selection | Approx odds |
| 1 | Alexander Zverev to beat Quentin Halys | 1/6 |
| 2 | Iga Świątek to beat Nadia Podoroska | Odds-on |
| 3 | Elena Rybakina to beat Jessica Bouzas Maneiro | Odds-on |
| 4 | Alex de Minaur to beat Botic van de Zandschulp | Odds-on |
The risk is de Minaur: van de Zandschulp has taken him to a deciding set in two of the four meetings and has just beaten Jan Choinski in straight sets. If you want to shorten the slip, drop that leg and take it as a treble.

Acca 2 — The Value Slip (3-fold)
Three prices where the market and the recent form look out of step. Paula Badosa has beaten Coco Gauff in five of their eight meetings, including the last two, and is the outsider tonight. Yulia Putintseva knocked out 12th seed Belinda Bencic in the first round and meets Zheng Qinwen, a former world top-five player who is here as a qualifier and short of match rhythm at this level. Tatjana Maria beat 30th seed Jelena Ostapenko from a set down and faces Nikola Bartůňková, who has played only one main-draw match.
| Leg | Selection | Approx odds |
| 1 | Paula Badosa to beat Coco Gauff | Odds-against |
| 2 | Yulia Putintseva to beat Zheng Qinwen | Odds-against |
| 3 | Tatjana Maria to beat Nikola Bartůňková | Around evens |
This is the slip that pays if the night session goes the way the head-to-head suggests rather than the way the prices do. Treat it as a small stake: all three legs are live outcomes rather than likelihoods.

Acca 3 — The British Slip (2-fold)
Britain is down to two players, both qualifiers, so this is a two-fold rather than the usual three. Harriet Dart meets 25th seed Marie Bouzková on Court 11 and Francesca Jones plays 14th seed Iva Jovic on Stadium 17, not before 9pm BST. Both are underdogs against seeds, so the sensible version of this bet is set betting rather than outright wins: Jones has already come through a three-set first-rounder here and Dart is a better hard-court player than her ranking suggests.
| Leg | Selection | Approx odds |
| 1 | Harriet Dart to win a set v Marie Bouzková | Odds-against |
| 2 | Francesca Jones to win a set v Iva Jovic | Odds-against |
Katie Boulter did not win a set on Day 4, which is the cautionary note here. Neither of these is a bet on a British win; it is a bet on both matches being competitive.
