Tournament Overview
The tennis calendar runs from January to November across three surfaces, built around a clear hierarchy: the four Grand Slams sit above the ATP and WTA 1000-level Masters events, which sit above the 500s and 250s that fill out the rest of the season on both tours.
The 2026 men's season has belonged to Jannik Sinner. He completed a rare Career Golden Masters in Rome, becoming only the second man after Novak Djokovic to win all nine ATP Masters 1000 titles, and went on to take Wimbledon. Carlos Alcaraz opened the year by completing the career Grand Slam at the Australian Open at 22, the youngest man to do it, and reached the Monte Carlo final before a right wrist injury at the Barcelona Open cost him Madrid, Rome, Roland-Garros and Wimbledon. Alexander Zverev won his maiden major at Roland-Garros, beating Flavio Cobolli in five sets.
On the women's side Aryna Sabalenka has held world No. 1 throughout and completed the Sunshine Double by winning Indian Wells and Miami. Elena Rybakina took the Australian Open, Mirra Andreeva won Roland-Garros at 19, and Linda Nosková claimed a maiden Grand Slam at Wimbledon.
The US Open closes the Grand Slam year in New York, starting on the last Sunday in August.
